Last night’s preseason game between the Washington Redskins and the Indianapolis Colts brought much needed attention back to NBC. Thanks to the upcoming Olympics, Sunday night probably won’t be the last time the network is victorious due to sports-related programming.
8pm
- Sunday Night Football (2.4/7 in 18-49) hit the field with 7.2 million.
- Big Brother 10 (6.7 million, 2.3/7) grew by 700,000.
- The Simpsons* (4.6 million, 2.0/6) was slightly up from last week.
- High School Musical: Get in the Picture (3 million, 0.9/3) had 100,000 skip class.
- Everybody Hates Chris* (820,000, 0.4/1) was down 107,000; Aliens in America* (840,000, 0.4/1) only lost 19,000.

Thursday Ratings: Flashpoint Shows Improvement

This week, Flashpoint had some growth in its new Thursday time slot. The improvement helped CBS win the night with the viewers. Meanwhile, FOX was all over the demos.

- Big Brother 10 (6.5 million, 2.3/8 in 18-49) did 400,000 better than last week’s Greatest American Dog.
- Don’t Forget the Lyrics (1.7/6) had 5.9 million singing along.
- Last Comic Standing (5 million, 1.9/6) pulled in 700,000 more.
- Ugly Betty* (3.8 million, 1.1/4) was up 400,000.
- Smallville* (1.7 million, 0.7/2 lost 200,000.

Tuesday Ratings: America’s Got Talent Delivers the Numbers

Yesterday, America’s Got Talent attracted its largest audience so far this season. The reality show helped NBC win the viewers while ABC was the victor in the demos.

- Wipeout (9.7 million, 3.5/11 in 18-49) easily won its hour.
- NCIS* (8.5 million, 1.4/5) did the same as before.
- Celebrity Family Feud (2.0/6) ended its season with 7.5 million.
- Kitchen Nightmares* (1.5/5) grossed out 3.5 million.
- Beauty and the Geek (1.2 million, 0.4/1) added on 200,000.

Big Brother Competitors Feel Earthquake

Although CBS likes to isolate the Big Brother competitors from the real world, the network can’t keep them from experiencing a natural disaster.
In this clip, you can see how the houseguests reacted during yesterday’s California earthquake. After watching the video, try to correctly guess how many times the phrase ‘Omigawd’ was used. Also, do your best to figure out why removal of clothing was deemed necessary.

Thanks to a strong performance from 60 Minutes, CBS was able to pull off a narrow victory in the viewers. Meanwhile, FOX - with help from Family Guy - was a winner in the demos.

- Big Brother 10 (6 million, 2.0/6 in 18-49) lured in 200,000 more.
- America’s Got Talent* (5.4 million, 1.6/4) was up slightly.
- The Simpsons* (2.1/6) averaged 4.5 million over an hour.
- High School Musical: Get in the Picture (3.1 million, 1.0/3) plunged another 900,000.
- Everybody Hates Chris* (927,000, 0.4/1) sunk by 63,000; Aliens in America* (859,000, 0.4/1) improved by 29,000.

- Big Brother 10 (6.3 million, 2.1/7) took in 400,000 more.
- Wife Swap* (4 million, 1.4/5) did the same as last week.
- The Baby Borrowers* (3.2 million, 1.1/3) started off 900,000 lower.
- America’s Next Top Model* (1.1 million, 0.4/1) pulled in similar numbers.

Tuesday Ratings: Wipeout Still a Hit

Although last week’s All-Star Game made a dent in Wipeout‘s numbers, the show proved viewers were still interested. The program’s rebound helped ABC attain a victory in the demos, meanwhile NBC was the leader with the viewers.

- Wipeout (9.9 million, 3.6/12 in 18-49) saw 1.4 million return this week.
- NCIS* (8.5 million, 1.6/5) picked up another 700,000.
- Celebrity Family Feud (7.3 million, 1.8/5) had a 600,000 dip.
- Kitchen Nightmares* (1.6/5) uncovered 3.8 million rats.
- Beauty and the Geek* (1 million, 0.5/1) turned out a repeat performance.

Looks like the High School Musical name doesn’t always mean gold. The premiere of ABC’s new reality series pulled in disappointing numbers last night and did very little for ABC. Meanwhile, NBC ended up courting the viewers while tying FOX with the demos.

- Big Brother 10 (5.8 million, 1.9/6 in 18-49) was the hour’s most-watched show.
- America’s Got Talent* (5.3 million, 1.4/4) entertained 1 million more than last week.
- High School Musical: Get in the Picture (1.1/3) saw 4 million report for class.
- The Simpsons* (3.6 million, 1.6/6) was down 400,000; King of the Hill* (3.5 million, 1.6/5) lost 300,000.
- Everybody Hates Chris* (990,000, 0.4/1) picked up 120,000; Aliens in America* (830,000, 0.3/1) improved by 127,000.

Wednesday Ratings: Celebrity Circus Ends Quietly

Viewers didn’t seem particularly interested about last night’s Celebrity Circus finale. They did, though, care about the Top Ten contestants on SYTYCD. The dancing competition once again helped FOX win both the demos and the viewers.

- So You Think You Can Dance (8.8 million, 3.0/10 in 18-49) stepped it up a notch.
- Big Brother 10 (5.9 million, 1.8/6) did almost 2 million less than The Price is Right.
- The Baby Borrowers* (1.3/5) started off with 4.1 million.
- Wife Swap* (4 million, 1.4/5) was up slightly.
- America’s Next Top Model (1.1 million, 0.5/2) did the same as before.

Big Brother 10: Brian Evicted/Jessie is New HOH

He flew too close to the sun and got burned. Brian, the former Air Force crew chief from San Francisco, talked himself right out of the Big Brother 10 house. He wasn’t even nominated originally.
Jerry, the Head of Household, put Renny and Jessie up for nomination, but Jessie won the Power of Veto. This coincided with increasing suspicion of Brian’s attempts to control other house guests and tell them how to vote. At one point, Brian suggested he was “pulling all the strings” in the house. He’d originally formed an alliance with Dan and Ollie. But Ollie has formed a stronger alliance (like the physical kind) with April and April didn’t like Brian so Ollie turned on him.
